Thought I'll start a record of any strange/unusual observations in London.
Usually I find that the side of the escalator you stand on (when not walking up the escalator and 'overtaking' others), follows the country's road rules. So like in Singapore, we have left-hand drive and overtake on the right lane. Likewise, if you are just relaxing on the ride up the escalator, you stand on the left, and the right side is meant for 'overtaking' people.
If I'm not wrong, most of the countries I've visited followed this pattern.
But here in London, they have similar road rules as us, but on esclators, they stand on the right, and overtake on the left! So strange!
